Who we are
At TEE we are fundamentally interested in the evolution of behavioural and life-history strategies in variable and unpredictable environments. A particular focus of interest is the evolution of „intelligent“ dispersal and movement strategies in variable environments and habitat gradients. Another area of activity is understanding the rules, mechanisms and evolutionary drivers underlying the timing of behavioural activities and important transitions in solitary and social insects, as well as migratory bird species. Finally, we are investigating topics in life-history evolution and host-antagonist interactions in e.g. social insects or invasive plant species. Our group contributes to the teaching of our department with theory-orientated courses in population ecology, evolutionary modelling and courses in statistics. We provide opportunities for undertaking Bachelor and Master theses.
Our group is part of the Department of Animal Ecology & Tropical Biology.
