Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology (Zoology III)
Our department is part of the Biocenter at the University of Würzburg and comprises three professorships and about 60 staff members. The involved working groups cover major areas of animal ecology in research and teaching. The main emphasis is on biodiversity research, ecosystem functioning, global change, tropical ecology and evolutionary ecology. Part of the research groups are located at the Campus "Hubland Nord" (Theoretical Evolutionary Ecology, Global Change Ecology and Applied Biodiversity Science) and at the Ecological Field Station Fabrikschleichach (Research Group Forest Ecology).
