Research interests

I am interested in ecological connections in semi-natural habitats like forests and grasslands. My main focus is on the effects of land use change on communities of different organisms. In special, I am working on the diversity and ecology of insects (especially beetles).

My current research focusses on the connection of carbon storage and diversity of arthropods in forest ecosystems and how this connection is influenced by different forest structures. Mainly I want to understand if temperate European forests can help to mitigate climate and biodiversity crisis simultaneously.
