We are happy to announce that our Chair of Biochemistry II, Bettina Warscheid, has been elected by the DFG’s Senate as a new Member of the DFG Grants Committee and Senate Committee on Research Training Groups (RTGs).

A new study performed by Johannes Zimmermann and former lab mate Anja Schwäble from the lab of Bettina Warscheid together with Thomas Kokot from the lab of Maja Köhn investigates the role of protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) in skeletal muscle cells during mechanical stress.

The installation of the new mass spectrometers in the laboratory began today with the Orbitrap Ascend. Over the next two weeks, the Orbitrap Ascend and Orbitrap Astral will be brought to high vacuum, tested, calibrated and connected to the liquid chromatography systems.
