How to get here

From Frankfurt am Main airport:
Take the ICE train from Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof to Würzburg Hauptbahnhof (approx. 1.5 hours).

From Nuremberg airport:
Take subway U2 to Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof.
Take the ICE train from Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof to Würzburg Hauptbahnhof (approx. 1 hour).

From Würzburg Hauptbahnhof (Busbahnhof), take bus no. 14, 114 or 214 for Hubland and get off at ‘Am Hubland’ or ‘Hubland Mensa.’

Via Autobahn A3:
Take exit Rottendorf (no. 72), then follow Bundesstraße B 8 for Würzburg and take exit Gerbrunn; please follow direction signs ‘UNI Hubland.’ Maps: overview, detail

From Würzburg Hauptbahnhof (station forecourt), take tram no. 5 for Rottenbauer or tram no. 3 for Athener Ring and get off at ‘Dallenbergbad.’

From the north (Hannover):  Take Autobahn A 7 (European route E 45) - take exit Würzburg/Estenfeld - turn onto Bundesstraße B 19 for Würzburg - in Würzburg, follow B 19 for Schwäbisch-Hall - take the right-hand exit to ‘Dallenbergbad Botanischer Garten’ - move to the left-hand lane and after approx. 100 metres, turn left onto König Heinrich Straße, which is the first street on the left-hand side - at the next street, turn left onto Mittlerer Dallenberg Weg - the Julius von Sachs Institute is located at the end of the street.
 
From the east (Nuremberg):  Take Autobahn A 3 (European route E 45) - take exit Würzburg/Heidingsfeld (70) - turn left onto Bundesstraße B 19 for Würzburg/Fulda - take the right-hand exit to ‘Dallenbergbad Botanischer Garten’ - turn right onto Mergentheimer Straße - move to the left-hand lane and immediately turn left onto the road for Bad Mergentheim B 19 - at the next T-junction (after approx. 60 metres), turn right onto König Heinrich Straße - from there, see ‘From the north’ above...
 
From the south (Ulm):  Take Autobahn A 7 (European route E 43 / E 45) - at Autobahn junction Biebelrieder Kreuz, leave A 7 to join A 3 for Frankfurt - take exit Würzburg/Heidingsfeld - from there, see ‘From the east’ above...
 
From the west (Frankfurt):  Take Autobahn A 3 (European route E 41 / E 43) - take exit Würzburg/Heidingsfeld - turn left onto Bundesstraße B 19 for Würzburg/Fulda - from there, see ‘From the east’ above...
 
From the southwest (Stuttgart):  Take Autobahn A 81 (European route E 41) - at Autobahn junction Autobahndreieck Würzburg/West, leave A 81 to join A 3 (E 43) for Würzburg/Nürnberg - take exit Würzburg/Heidingsfeld - from there, see ‘From the west’ above...

From Frankfurt am Main airport:

If you are travelling in by train from Würzburg or Bamberg, get off in Hassfurt.
Currently, there are few direct bus services to Fabrikschleichach (bus no. 8178). Busses are leaving from Hassfurt at 13:34 and 17:20 (weekdays only).
If you notify in time, we will arrange for you to be picked up from Ebelsbach-Eltmann station by car (please note that only Regionalbahn (RB) trains will stop there).

Take Autobahn exit Eltmann or Knetzgau (if you are taking A 70) or exit Geiselwind (if you are taking A 3) and follow Steigerwaldhöhenstraße to Fabrikschleichach (near Untersteinbach).

The Ecological Field Station Fabrikschleichach is located in the timbered house by the village pond.
