Architecture of the type VII secretion system deciphered
14.11.2019In pathogenic mycobacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis type VII secretion system facilitates the secretion of virulence factors. After a fruitful multi-disciplinary collaboration led by the Geibel group at RVZ the structure was recently published in Nature by Famelis et al.(2019). The high-resolution electron micrographs for structure determination were acquired at our newly established cryo-EM facility led by the Boettcher-group.
